Happy February! This short, sweet month focuses on highlighting the clubs/ organizations at ASDOH & some of the upcoming opportunities to get involved!

ASDA

The American Student Dental Association (ASDA) is a national student-run organization that protects & advances the rights, interests & welfare of dental students. It introduces students to lifelong involvement in organized dentistry & provides services, information, education, representation & advocacy. This large organization has many opportunities to get involved & the next general board meeting is Monday Feb. 20th.

HSDA

Hispanic Student Dental Association (HSDA) provides service, education, advocacy, & leadership for the elimination of oral health disparities in the Hispanic community. You do not have to be Hispanic or speak Spanish to join our organization!

AAWD

The Association of Women Dentists’ (AAWD) mission is serving to highlight, inspire, & empower women in the field of dentistry! This club is not exclusive to women & men are encouraged to join. The club highlights & celebrates the achievements of women in dentistry, mainly through lunch and learns, & social media posts. They also strive to empower women in our field and our community through education & service opportunities.

SUAT

If you are interested in Pediatric Dentistry & enjoy working with children or serving the community, you should consider joining this organization. Students United with America's Toothfairy (SUAT) is a non-profit organization that is enthusiastic about providing oral health education to at-risk pediatric populations. Their next event is Saturday Feb. 18th, partnering with Mesa Public Schools for SUAT Tooth Fairy’s Funfest.

AGD

Academy of General Dentistry’s (ADG) mission is to advance general dentistry & oral health through quality continuing education & advocacy. Through this mission, AGD member dentists are able to build their careers, grow their businesses & protect their profession. The next meeting will be Tuesday Feb. 21st.

SCDA

Special Care Dentistry Association (SCDA) is dedicated to raising awareness about the challenges patients with special needs face at the dental office & educating their members about how to provide dental care in these special populations.

These excellent organizations & others at ASDOH strive to increase student involvement while promoting education & action within our community. Enjoy the rest of your month!
